I apologize for my long absence. It feels like I live at school now as I'm trying to graduate on time. Only four more credits left! I'm going to try harder to post more. I have lots of post ideas but just no time to put them together.
Anyways, a month ago I took a trip to one of my city's most authentic streets. 4th Avenue is full of local businesses and is a place of inspiration. There's so many different people running around there. It's the home of a variety of alternative sub-cultures. Back in the 70's, the hippies claimed the street. Then the punks came flooding in. It's a colorful street with lots of history. I wish I took pictures that day, but like usual it didn't come to mind.
First, I hit the How Sweet It Was vintage shop. Of course this can't be considered a thrift shop because it was mostly vintage with authentic items like real fur coats. Most of the clothes they had were for rental because they were so delicate. I did purchase a really soft kinda crop top with a leopard print.
It was for $9.95, which I thought was a pretty good deal for a vintage shop. It's super soft and the best part of it is the back.
You can easily tell that this was not done by the manufacturer. But the knots give it more flair instead of being a plain crop top. I have still thought of how to wear this yet, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. Do you have any suggestions on how to wear this?
Then I hit to Goodwill where I was sweetly surprised. I had no idea on that day there was a 50% off sale on EVERYTHING (except for pink tag items). It wasn't just at that store either. This sale was nation-wide, I think. So I was pretty thrilled about that and I must've spent two hours there going through each clothing item on the over-crowded rack.
I found this sheer black blouse.
I was a little unsure about buying it because I didn't know how the material will fit on me but the two buttons stole my hear. They're shiny. Haha.
It was regular $4.99. And with the 50% discount, I got it for $3.50. What an awesome buy!
I loved the floral print of this dress and the length. It felt like the perfect spring dress. I already worn it a few times even though it's freezing over here in Arizona.
Look at the print! So pretty!
The back (as you can see above) kind of confused me because it has flaps that look like they belong in the front. But once I tried it on, I began to understand the structure of it.
This was originally $4.99. I got it for $3.50.
This green lacey dress immeaditly caught my eye.
It was originally $12.99, which is obviously way overpriced for a thrift shop and I bet if it wasn't for the 50% discount I think I would've left it at the store.
So that was my adventure at 4th Avenue.
Let me know what you think of my purchases and how you'd outfit that leopard (is it leopard or cheetah?) print top.
Thanks!
