Happy new year!
I don't usually make resolutions but I thought I should take a different route this year and try new things. These aren't so personal, but are more related to improving my blogging. I think we can all agree that these resolutions are commonly shared among other bloggers.
Resolution #1: Links a la Mode
One of my blogging goals is to make it into one of
HeartIFB's weekly links a la mode. It's a honor to get recognized by IFB and it helps your traffic. But before I ever expect myself to get that spotlight, I have to make a decent enough post that can exceed their expectations. What will it be about? Who knows. But I want to at least try to get a spot in their section. And that should be your goal too.
Resolution #2: Blog, Blog, Blog
Post at least twice a week. In order to get readers, you have to be posting regularly. Why would readers be clicking the "follow" button if the last post was from three weeks ago?
Resolution #3: Post More Outfits
Share more of my outfits. That might mean I have to stop posting instagram-filtered pictures straight from my phone and instead get into high-quality cameras. How can I be a fashion blog when I don't give my readers a sneak peek into my personal style? As Alexander Mcqueen once said, "
It's a new era in fashion - there are no rules. It's
all about the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end,
classic labels, and up-and-coming designers all together."
Resolution #4: Receive Profit
Adsense and Shopsense are the top two choices for earning revenue while blogging. I just recently signed up for Shopsense and you should too. Who doesn't like the idea of getting some $$ in return for blogging?
Resolution #5: Branch Out
I have yet to find my blogging voice but that doesn't mean I should stay inside the box. It's time to branch out in the fashion world. Speak up. Leave comments. Email your favorite bloggers personally to let them know how much you admire them. Look at different blogs for inspiration. Don't keep posting about daily outfits. Give your readers something fresh.
These are all great resolutions to shoot for, and I am planning to take on most of these myself this year as well! I've goaled myself to post three times a week. Last week I only posted twice due to technical problems, but this week I have my editorial calendar in place and have already planned out my 3 posts for the week!
ReplyDeleteGood luck in your resolutions, and I can't wait to read all your new posts!
